Sunday
Met up with my best friend since 8th grade,Tammy, and we went to get sushi at Hirano's Japanese Restaurant. We spent the rest of the evening catching up and getting a good dose of E! Tv..
Monday
I met my friend Laura for lunch at Panera Bread Co (YUM!). Laura is nearly 9 months pregnant with her first child, Noah Carson Stone. We decided to go by our old high school because they are about to move into a brand new building and our high school hallway will be for the middle schoolers. While we were there, we went and saw our old fourth grade teacher, Mrs. Louise Moore. Mrs. Moore is now the elementary principal for Calvary and still as sweet and wonderful as ever! Not only did we see our old high school but we also went upstairs to the elementary hallway and saw our old 3rd-5th grade classrooms! It was full of nostalgic memories!!
The "old" high school hallway of Calvary Baptist Day School
Me being the perfect student...actually the same hallway where I was sent outside for talking in class!! Haha!
We love CHS!
On Monday night, Tammy, Laura, & I met up with Tony & Cyd Pagliarullo. Tony, Tammy, & I graduated the same year and basically grew up together. Since all five of us were Calvary grads, we dubbed the night our "mini reunion." We were hoping for more to show up, but ended up having a blast together catching up on old times and sharing all of the new things going on in our lives!

Tuesday
I got to meet up with some dear friends of mine that met last summer at orientation for NICS. Kammie & Alexa roomed w/me in Mississippi last year and we formed a strong bond very quickly! Kammie teaches at our sister school in Seoul, Korea and Alexa teaches at another sister school in Pyongtaek, Korea. Both were on vacation in Hilton Head and drove to Savannah to see me. We had a great day going to lunch and then touring the historic district of Savannah. I've been on many tours in Savannah having lived there 10 yrs of my life but it's always nice to go and see the beautiful sites downtown again and again.

Touring the most beautiful city in the South!
Wednesday
Yesterday proved to be quite an interesting day because the brake lights on my mom's car went out and I had to take it to the VW dealership in Savh to fix it. So I didn't have to wait ALL day (and it was ALL day!) Laura picked me up and took me to the doctor's office with her for her checkup. I finally was able to pick up my car at 2:30 whereupon I drove to Statesboro where I was speaking at Tony's youth group about Germany that night. Tammy joined me later on and we ended up going out to eat afterwards with Tony, Cyd, and their PRECIOUS daughter, Claire. We stayed at their house talking until midnight which put us back in Savh at 1:00am! It was well worth it, however, because we had a GREAT time with them!!!!

Thursday
After only getting 5 1/2 hrs of sleep, I woke up at 6:15 to drive to Jekyll Island and meet my friend Catharine who I taught with this year in Germany. Catharine's family was on vacation there and she had invited me to spend the day with her! We met up at 8:45 for an AWESOME kayak ride through the intracoastal marshes. I'd never been kayaking before and as most of you know, I am not so much into outdoorsy things (though I'm getting better at them!). But this was so much fun and the weather was just right for our kayak venture. Afterwards, we went back to the Jekyll Club where her family was staying and laid out by the pool. This evening we had a lovely meal at the club before I headed back to Jacksonville. Overall, this was a wonderful time to get to see old and new friends. It definitely ranks up there with top vacations I've had!!!
