Weil a Thon

Today was our 1st annual Weil-a-Thon, which was a walk around Weil am Rhein to raise money for our playground. We had a blast! I love it when we have school events b/c it feels, as Anne says, "like a family reunion." After the walk we had hotdogs and hamburgers and hot chocolate (it is FREEZING today!) and a bake sale. Families were able to spread out on the back lawn of the school and eat together and just enjoy each others company. I had a great time as always with the kids. We walked 5km (3 miles) and it felt GREAT!

It is now nearing 7pm and Anne and I are having Catharine and Andrea, two of the girls we work with, over for a movie and pizza night. I don't know what it's like in the States, but it's been getting dark here by 6:30pm. Today was really the first day I felt cold and checking the weather today I saw that it's only getting colder! YAY! Of course in a few months when I'm hiking it to school in so many feet of snow I will probably be yearning for the beautiful Florida sunshine and the fact that the season of winter lasts Dec-Feb and not Nov-April!

It's windy and rainy here--Mississippi. It's good to hear that the Weil-a-Thon went so well! YAY!
