Lisbon Days 1 & 2

It has been a beautiful 2 days in Lisbon so far. Anne & I arrived yesterday around 12pm Lisbon time(they are an hour behind German time). We got to our hostel and then walked around the city to do some exploring. The buildings here are ancient and I don´t think I`ve seen buildings this old since I was in Greece. The architecture is unlike any I`ve seen in Europe. We finished our day by having dinner at the Hard Rock Cafe and then heading back to the hostel.

This morning we got up after a very good night´s rest and decided to take the trolley to the old flea market. I found a BEAUTIFUL ring for only €3.50 and a handmade purse. The flea market was right next to a very famous cathedral that overlooked the Atlantic Ocean. It was so breathtaking!!! We had lunch at a little hole in the wall place and then headed back to the main part of the city to catch a bus tour. It took us all over Lisbon and we got off when we heard `this is a shopping center with over 300 stores..` It ended up being WAAAAAAAAY out of our price range and so we got a cup of coffee and headed back to the bus stop!

It was dinnertime by then so we walked up the hill (Lisbon is FULL of hills...very much like what I imagine San Fran. to look like) and found another hole in the wall place and had a delicious cup of potato and leek soup for €1.50. We got back to our hostel about 30 min ago and tomorrow we are taking a boat tour to the other side of Lisbon and then we´re going to tour the castle at the top of the hill.

More to come later!

Ciao :)
